Dog Training FAQs
You have questions…I have answers
Getting Started
When can we get started?
1
As soon as you’re ready! After our consultation, we’ll set up your first in-home training session and begin your dog’s personalized training journey.
Is my dog too young/old for training?
2
It’s never too early or too late! Because all of my training is done one-on-one in your home, you don’t have to wait for vaccinations or worry that you’ve “missed the window.” I adapt training to your dog’s age and stage, whether you’re starting with a brand-new puppy or an older dog who needs some help.
How do I book a consultation?
3
Booking is simple! Click here to reach out. After we decide we’re the right fit for each other, I’ll walk you through the next steps.
Training Expectations
Will all my problems be solved?
1
Dogs aren’t robots, so it would be unethical guarantee perfection—but you will see noticeable improvements in your dog’s behavior. Even better, you’ll gain the skills and confidence to guide your pup long after our sessions are done.
How long before I notice progress?
2
Most families start seeing positive changes within the first few weeks. Every dog learns at their own pace, but with consistent practice and support, you’ll notice steady improvements in everyday life.
What if my dog doesn’t respond right away?
3
That’s okay! Every pup is unique. I’ll adjust our approach to fit your dog’s learning style and personality along with yours. You’ll never be left guessing—I’ll be there to guide you every step of the way.
Packages & Investment
Can we get away with just the smaller package?
1
I’ll help you choose the right training package based on your needs and goals. Some puppies need more time, while others do great with fewer sessions. I’ll never recommend more than you need—you’ll always get an honest, personalized suggestion.
How much does it cost, and what’s included?
2
I offer different training packages designed to fit a variety of goals and budgets. Each package includes in-home sessions, personalized coaching, and ongoing support between sessions. You can check out current options on the designated service pages.
Methods & Philosophy
What exactly is positive reinforcement, and why do you use it?
1
Positive reinforcement means rewarding behaviors you want to see more of. It’s science-based, effective, and—best of all—it makes training fun and stress-free for both you and your dog. By focusing on rewards instead of punishment, your dog learns faster and develops a stronger bond with you.
Why should I choose a certified dog trainer?
2
Certification shows that I’ve invested in professional education, stay up to date with modern training science, and follow ethical practices. When you work with me, you know your dog is learning in a safe, humane, and effective way.
